Outside Processors Scholarship Endowment Fund
The Outside Processors Council has established a permanent named endowment through
the Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs®, the Foundation of the FMA, to support annual scholarship
awards for the next generation of students preparing for careers in manufacturing,
specifically the metals industry.
In consideration of the merger with FMA, the OPC board voted in December, 2010 to
donate the balance of their treasury and have pledged to raise the remaining amount
necessary to fund the endowment. Per endowment principles, the initial gift will
never be spent, only the interest it earns. Once the fund (including interest earnings)
exceeds the endowed amount, the earnings – and only the earnings - will be used
to fund scholarships in perpetuity in OPC’s name. The annual scholarships will be
awarded in increments of at least $2,000 and up to $5,000. Priority consideration
will be given to employees or a spouse/child of employees of FMA/OP group member
companies.
