Outside Processors Council
Formed in 1997 with the help and support of the AISI Outside Processing Managers
Committee, OPC is an association established by interested parties in the metal
processing business to serve industry segments including metal producers, service
centers, distribution companies
The OPC’s purpose is to:
- determine group opinion among its members regarding common ideas and concerns of
outside processors
- facilitate the lawful exchange of information and cooperative communication with
the AISI OP Managers Committee
- initiate Council-approved actions that benefit the metal processing industry as
a whole—its constituencies, its customers, and its members.
The OPC is an industrial association, formed by interested parties in the metal
processing business; serving customers that include metal producers, service centers,
distribution companies, and original equipment manufacturers; primarily located
in the United States and Canada.
The OPC encourages equitable and ethical business dealings. The OPC formulates,
promotes and develops programs and activities designed to assist Industry members
to operate with superior economy, efficiency, and safety.
The OPC provides the means for expression of Industry opinions upon questions affecting
the Industry, and a means of maintaining contacts between constituencies that relate
to the Industry.
This corporation is formed as a Not-For-Profit corporation under rules and regulations
of the US Government Internal Revenue Service and the Ohio Secretary of State Offices.
The Outside Processors Council awards an annual scholarship up to $5,000 to encourage
students to consider careers in manufacturing. The OPC Scholarship is managed by
the FMA Foundation. Applications to the OPC scholarship will be considered for other
FMA/TPA scholarships as well.
To apply, you must be:
- A full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA (for a college scholarship) or a 2.0
GPA (for a trade/technical school scholarship), enrolled in an engineering or manufacturing-related
course of study, or a trade or technical program, that may lead to a career in manufacturing;
and
- a member of
FMA, TPA,
or OPC; or
- the employee of a member company; or
- the child of a member; or
- the child of a member company's employee.
